Tram Tau is a district of Yen Bai province where is about 180km to the Northwest of Hanoi.
Referring to Tram Tau, visitors often think of hunting cloud on Ta Xua or Ta Chi Nhu. But other places visitors should not ignore is the hot spring in zone 5, Tram Tau town, Hang Te Cho in Nhi village or heaven of Cu Vai. Destination: Hanoi – Tram Tau – Hang Te Cho – Cu Vai Village– Mai Chau

Day 1: Hanoi – Tram Tau (210km)
After breakfast, the guide will pick you up at your hotel to bike garage. Being already, we get out of Hanoi and it takes us around 5 hours to get to Tram Tau. Tram Tau is a rural district of Yen Bai province, Northwest of Hanoi. It is home to ethnic groups like H’mong or Thai ethnic groups. There are a lot of attractions that make Tram Tau be a popular destination to both domestic and foreign visitors. On the road to Tram Tau, the team can see the difference in prospective after getting out of Hanoi. We will stop at some points where you would like to take pictures and drink. In the afternoon, we have lunch. The crew arrives in homestay booked in advance in Tram Tau around 4pm. Check in the homestay, rest for a while and walk around. We take shower then have lunch around 7pm. Sleep well to prepare next trip tomorrow.
Day 2: Tram Tau – Hang Te Cho (40km)
We get up early in the morning, have breakfast then be ready to do Hang Te Cho adventure today!
Hang Te Cho is the farthest village of Lang Nhi, Tram Tau. This area has some dozens of Black H’mong house. The village also owns the same waterfall named Hang Te Cho, considered a beautiful waterfall in the list of destinations of the Northwest Vietnam.
The roads to Nhi Village are small and dangerous slopes. The scenery on the road is very beautiful and there are still terraced fields.
In order to get to Hang Te Cho village where there are beautiful waterfalls that still look pristine, the crew can sometimes have to walk for a few hours, because the road here is only for horses, and motorcycles are hard to enter. At the turn of Nhi village and Hang Te Cho, passing about 10 steep slopes of 25 degrees is to reach adventurous land. Motorbike for a few more kilometers up the mountain and down to the stream, we will finally arrive. We bring some food and drink along for lunch in case getting back late or there is no restaurant during the trip.
We take great pictures, immerse yourselves into the water will be amazing experience.
We get back to the homestay in the late afternoon, take a shower and have dinner.
Day 3: Tram Tau – Cu Vai village (30km)
Today after getting up in the morning, the crew will immense into hot water of hot mineral spring located right at the foot of beautiful terraced fields in Zone 5, Tram Tau town. The temperature of the water is about 43-45 degrees C. Although the spring is not too large, it is like a 600 square meter overflowing swimming pool among the nature. The warm and clean water gives visitors great comfort.
Getting out of the spring, we have a lovely breakfast prepared by the local then head towards Cu Vai village. Located on a high mountain, fairy land of Cu Vai belongs to Xa Ho commune. Cu Vai village is still quite new to those who love the peace of nature as well as the cultural life of ethnic minorities. We will have a real adventure today by a short motorbike excursion but very worthy. The track to get to the village will challenge bikers very much!
After riding on steep and winding slopes, we arrive. Coming here, motorbikers will feel lost in the village separated from the outside world, cloudy year round.
There are only 46 households living on the village. We will meet and communicate with the residents who are of more than 80% of H’Mong ethnic people.
Walk around to see how their lifestyle is, how they cultivate and learn about their culture. Take pictures and relax then motorcycle back to the homestay for lunch in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Tram Tau – Mai Chau (250km)
After breakfast, the crew says good bye to the host. We are on dirt bikes towards Mai Chau valley in Hoa Binh province.
This valley is home to Thai ethnic group. It is famous for its natural beauty of rice paddies, remote surrounding mountains, the cultural beauty of Thai people with houses-on-stilt, hand-made products and music performance. Spending the last day in Mai Chau, we will have a chance to be in very peaceful villages, be closer to the local to communicate, learn about their culture and see how they live. A very different place from Hanoi. On the way, we will have lunch in the afternoon and stop some times to take pictures. We reach Mai Chau around 4pm.
Check in the lovely hotel among paddies, relax, and walk around to enjoy the peace and the view. Have dinner prepared by Thai people.
Day 5: Mai Chau – Hanoi (140km)
Start your last day with hot Vietnamese café in the middle of rice and corn fields with full sounds of bird singing. After having breakfast at the hotel, take a short walk or a short ride around the rustic villages of the Thai hill tribe who lives on the houses on stilts.
Have lunch on the way of returning back to Hanoi. Enjoy 4 hours road trip with many beautiful sceneries along the way. Arrive at Hanoi around 4pm. Hotel drop off. The trip ends.
